The variety is well suited for the preparation of homemade wine compotes. Can be used for canning, baking and eating fresh. The tasting score of dry wines from the Druzhba variety is 8.6 points, and the sparkling rating is 9.4 points.

Breeding history and breeding region

A new variety has emerged thanks to the joint work of Russian breeders from the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Scientific and Technical Information and Bulgarian wine-growers NIIViVa. Villan Blan, Misket Kayleshki and Muscat of Hamburg were chosen for crossing. The work was conducted under the guidance of Potapenko Ya.I. The variety has successfully passed the test and is recommended for cultivation in different parts of our country.

Thanks to Potapenko, Amirkhan, Amethyst and August were also born.

Specifications

• The variety is characterized by average yields (up to 150-170 centners). Yield quality can be improved through proper and regular care. Pay more attention to watering, proper planting and transplanting, regular pruning and feeding, disease prevention;
• Pay attention to the fact that very many eyes are often formed on one bush. Although the branches of grapes are strong and can withstand a sufficiently large volume, so many berries simply will not ripen, especially in the climatic conditions of our strip. The optimal load on the bush - 30 eyes (no more than 35);



• Frost varieties high. Bushes can withstand up to -20 -23 degrees in winter. At the same time, remember that grapes are heat-loving and need additional shelter in winter.

  Studies of winegrowers indicate that during the last few years, more bushes have died from sudden changes in temperature than from diseases, pests and even locust attacks;

  For this variety, it is recommended to use a full cover with a long trim. Partial shelter does not properly protect the plant.

• An experienced gardener needs to know that the variety is endowed with a good affinity with Shasla roots x Berlandieri 41 B, Berlandieri x Riparia Kober 5 BB.

Diseases and pests

The advantage of the Druzhba variety is that it has a high resistance to mildew (2.5-3 points) and gray rot (3-3.5 points), phylloxera (4 points).

1. For the purpose of prophylaxis, conduct spraying with special preparations for mildew (1-2 times), as well as from oidium in terms recommended by gardeners.
2. Carefully water the bushes. The lack of moisture is as dangerous as its excess.
3. Perform regular pruning. Remove old, broken, dried branches. Pruning vines fruiting is carried out on 6-8 buds.
4. Carefully remove the old foliage, fallen berries under the bushes and burn. Bad berries, rotten and dry foliage is a breeding ground for pathogens, insects and dangerous pests.
5. Care for the soil around the shrubs. Regularly loosen, remove grass and weeds, and after harvesting, dig a deep plot.
6. Often the most dangerous enemies for grapes are the wasps. You can fight them with the help of spaced traps and baits, destruction of wasps nests at the site, spraying with chemical preparations.

   But, if you really want to fully preserve the harvest, wrap each bunch in special mesh bags. Work is not for the lazy and requires a lot of time and cost, but the efficiency of the method is almost 100%.
