In January 2017, Russia significantly reduced imports of palm oil

According to official statistics, in January 2017, 34.6 thousand tons of palm oil were imported to Russia, which is 3 times less than the previous month (107 thousand tons), and 2 times less than in January 2016 ( 65 thousand tons), which has become the minimum monthly figure for the last three seasons.

It should be noted that in January 2017, all major product suppliers reduced exports to Russia. In particular, Indonesia significantly reduced volumes - 22.6 thousand tons, against 85.7 thousand tons in the previous month, the Netherlands - 4.7 thousand tons, compared to 8 thousand tons, and in Malaysia - 5.8 thousand tons, against 10.9 thousand tons. Recall that in 2016, Russia broke a record in the import of palm oil - 847.6 thousand tons, which is 12% more over the previous year.
