Description

Saranka or martagon, as the lily is also called Kinky, is a perennial. This bulbous plant is from Lebanon. Despite its southern origin, weed common in Europe and Asia. The flower feels well in the moist nutrient soils of mixed and deciduous forests on mountain slopes and meadows.

Plant height - from 30 cm to two meters. The stem is flexible, straight, not very leafy, dark in color with reddish spots.

Glossy green leaves of elongated shape on strong petioles are arranged alternately. Along the center of the leaf plate there is a clear strip of a shade lighter than the main background of the sheet. Leaf length up to 15 cm, width - up to 5 cm.

On single pedicels, pink, lilac or white flowers are arranged. Their petals are dark red with darker points, curved towards the pedicel.

The fruit is a box with flat brown seeds.

Medicinal properties

Despite the poorly studied plant composition when used in folk medicine, the following properties of lilies were observed:

  • antibacterial;
  • hemostatic;
  • biliary excretion;
  • diuretic.

Saranka flower in medicine is used in the treatment of biliary tract, skin and stomach diseases, in gynecology, in urology, dentistry, in cardiac and vision disorders.

Infusion of lily bulbs

A small bulb insist in boiling water (whole), a quarter of an hour. After straining drink a tablespoon three times a day.

Infusion is recommended for improving the appetite; as a sedative for anxiety, depression; painkiller with the pain of teeth.

Broth lily bulbs

Broth chopped onions helps with diseases of the biliary tract, juice of the bulb heals burns and wounds.

Healing of wounds and burns is promoted by canuper grass, maple sap, sage, St. John's wort, anise lofant, large stonecrop, rutabaga, northern bedwort, white willow, hazelnut, veronica officinalis, pine nuts, linden, burdock root.

Revitalizing face mask

Mask on the broth of the bulbs is used to whiten the skin of the face. For the preparation they take honey, decoction and flour from mustard seeds in equal parts. Keep on the skin for about twenty minutes, then rinse with warm water.

The mask, which returns a healthy complexion and narrowing the pores, is made from beeswax, honey and sunflower oil in equal parts with the addition of 15 ml of tuber juice. First you need to melt the wax, and then mix it with the rest of the ingredients and warmly apply on face for 25 minutes.

Oil extract from lily flowers

Preparing the hood at home is easy: the flowers for two weeks insist in a bowl with olive oil in a dark place (to cover). Run through the filter, add egg yolk, one spoonful of lemon juice and a spoonful of honey.

The resulting mixture is applied to the face for 20 minutes, then washed off. The extract of lily oil helps smooth mimic wrinkles, nourishes dry skin, regenerates and moisturizes it.

Contraindications

Special contraindications or harm from the plant is not revealed. The only minus is the stifling odor. With prolonged inhalation of the smell of the plant, severe headaches, weakness are possible, in more sensitive people - fainting.

Collection and preparation of medicinal raw materials

The bulbs are harvested in April and October, they are carefully dug, shaken off the ground. If necessary, onions are crushed immediately or dried completely at 40 degrees. For medicinal purposes, stalks, leaves and flowers are also harvested. The plant blooms in June-July, then the raw materials are collected. Dried under a canopy, laid out on a piece of cloth. Store raw materials in paper bags, the bulbs can be stored in glass containers in a dry place.

Lily Martagon is a southern plant, but it has long been adapted to a more severe climate, so it will not be difficult to grow it on your own plot.
