Scheme of feeding broiler chickens with antibiotics and vitamins

It is known that broiler chickens have a higher sensitivity to pathogenic bacteria, viruses, unfavorable housing conditions than ordinary chickens. To save livestock, many owners have resorted to the loss of such chickens drugs from the first days of life. Timely prophylactic administration of antibiotics and vitamins can increase the survival rate of young animals up to almost 100%. The following describes which drugs can be used to feed the chickens and what are the schemes for this process.

Broiler chicken feeding

Regarding the use of antibiotics, broiler owners are divided into two main groups: the first are convinced that it is unreasonable and even harmful to use antibiotic substances from the first days of chicken life.Others believe that prophylactic antibiotic therapy does not have negative consequences, and moreover, it is even necessary to protect livestock from infections and to form strong immunity.

Important! When buying chickens it is important to learn from the poultry farmer what exactly soldered feathered, what vitamins and antibiotics they have already been given, whether they have been vaccinated.

Scheme first

Supporters of this approach argue their choice: at birth, babies have microflora in the digestive system sterile, and it is thanks to proper nutrition and intake of vitamins colonization of the intestine begins with beneficial microorganisms, which leads to the formation of strong immunity. This approach is the most popular among poultry farmers.

The scheme of drinking №1:

Days 0-1.The babies are given a glucose solution for the speedy resorption of yolk residues. This drink also has anti-inflammatory, regenerating, anti-stress, immunomodulatory effects, strengthens the digestive system. For watering prepare 3-5% glucose solution. The product can be purchased at a pharmacy or prepared at home: 1 tsp. sugar per 1 liter of water.
Days 2-7.During this period, you can begin to give vitamins. It is possible to use the preparation "Lovit" (5 ml per 1 l).
Days 8-11.At this stage, the introduction of antibiotics begins. You can use "Enrofloks", "Baytril", "Ernostin."
Days 12-18.Break from vitamins and antibiotics.

After a break, you need to alternately sap the young with vitamins and antibiotics until slaughter.

We recommend to know which veterinary drugs will be useful to the farmer in growing broilers.

Scheme two

Adherents of this approach from the first days of life, chicks are fed with antibiotics in order to strengthen the immune system, especially in weak individuals.

Drinking scheme number 2:

Days 0-5.The introduction of antibiotic drugs begins. For example, the drug "Baytril" diluted in water (one ampoule of 1 ml per 2 liters of liquid). You can also use Enroxil.
Days 6-11.During this period, injected vitamin complexes. For example, the drugs "Aminovtal" (2 ml per 1 liter of water) or "Chiktonik" (1-2 ml per 1 liter of water).
Days 12-14.At this time, it is important to prevent coccidosis. Coccidiostatics are used for this purpose. For example, "Baykoks" 2.5% (one ampoule with a volume of 1 ml per 1 liter of water).
Days 15-17.The vitamin course is repeated with a preparation that was used in the period of 6-11 days.
Days 18-22.The antibiotic medication used in the first days of life is repeated.

Important! The highest incidence of broiler chickens is observed at 9-14 day.

Recommended drugs

There are a huge number of drugs that can be used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes, but not all of them are suitable for young animals, especially meat breeds. Below we consider the medicines that are most often given to broiler chickens.

Baycox

Koktsidiostatic, can be used both for prevention and for medicinal purposes. It is taken orally: a solution is prepared (1 ml of the drug is 2.5% per 1 l of water) and is evaporated by the birds for 48 hours. The drug has no side effects, but it should take at least 8 days from the last use of the medicine to slaughter the birds. If the slaughter was committed before the deadline, the meat is forbidden to eat; it can only be used for the manufacture of meat and bone meal.

The drug "Baikoks" is used to treat coccidiosis in broilers.

"Baytril"

A broad-spectrum antibiotic drug from the group of fluoroquinolones. The active ingredient is enrofloxacin, because the drug is prescribed for all diseases whose pathogens are sensitive to this antibiotic:

  • salmonellosis;
  • streptococcosis;
  • colibacteriosis;
  • mycoplasmosis;
  • campylobacteriosis;
  • necrotic enteritis.

Prepare a solution (0.5 ml per 1 l) and solder during the period specified by the veterinarian. Before slaughter should take at least 11 days from the last reception. This drug can not be used simultaneously with many medicinal substances, so before using you need to carefully read the instructions.

"Tromeksin"

A complex antibiotic drug that contains sulfanilamide, tetracycline, trimethoprim, bromhexine. It is prescribed for the following ailments:

  • dysentery;
  • bronchitis;
  • pneumonia;
  • pasteurellosis;
  • septicemia;
  • enteritis.
It is taken orally, for young broilers, a solution is prepared according to this scheme:

  • 1 day: 1 g of the drug in 1 liter of water;
  • 2-3 day: 0.5 g per 1 liter of water.

Regarding prophylactic dosage, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Slaughter of birds is allowed after 5 days from the moment of the last use of the drug.

Did you know? The term "broiler" is a derivative of the English expression broil, meaning "to fry on fire."

Enroxil

Antibiotic medication with the active ingredient enrofloxacin, so the indications for use of this medication are similar to the drug "Baytril". For oral administration, a mixture is prepared (0.5 ml of a 10% solution per 1 l of water) and evaporated for 3 days (with salmonellosis, the rate increases to 5 days). Slaughter of birds is allowed after 8 days from the moment of the last reception. This medication does not cause side effects and overdose, while respecting the rules of admission. However, it cannot be used simultaneously with drugs of the tetracycline group, macrolide, and some other types of antibiotics. Therefore, before using, be sure to read the instructions.

"Enrostin"

Combined antibiotic medication based on enrofloxacin and colistin. The indications for Enrostin are similar to those of Enroxil and Baytril. The prepared solution is applied orally (0.5 ml per 1 l of water) for 3-5 days. Slaughter of birds is carried out after 11 days.

It will certainly be useful for owners of broiler chickens to find out what causes the death of birds and how to eliminate them.

It is forbidden to simultaneously take the drug with many medicinal substances.

"Enrofloks"

Another antibiotic medication based on enrofloxacin. Indications for admission are similar. The medicament is produced in a concentration of 10%, a solution is prepared from it (0.5 ml per 1 l of liquid) and soldered to the birds during 3-5 days. Slaughter is carried out after 11 days from the last application.

Farmazin

An antibiotic drug from the group of macrolides based on the substance tylosin. For the prevention and treatment of broilers, Farmazin-500 is used in the form of a water-soluble powder. The solution (1 g of powder per 1 liter of liquid) is fed to the chickens instead of water for 3 days. This medication is used primarily for the prevention and treatment of mycoplasmosis in birds. It can also be used for dysentery, pneumonia, and infectious sinusitis.

"Ivermectin"

Antiparasitic drug with the same active ingredient. In broiler chickens used for the following parasitic diseases:

  • ascariasis;
  • capillariasis;
  • heterosis;
  • entomoz.

Did you know? Hybrids of different breeds of poultry, in particular broilers, are called "crosses", and the process of such crossing is called "cross-breeding."

The drug dissolves in water (0.4 ml per 1 liter of liquid) and is soldered to feathery for two days. Slaughter can be made after 8 days from the last reception.

"Fenenvet"

Antihelmintic powder drug based on flubendazole. For treatment, 3 g powder is mixed with 1 kg of feed, the course of treatment is 7 days. The drug is effective in ascariasis, histomonasis. Slaughter of poultry for meat is possible in 7 days from the moment of the last reception.

"Chiktonik"

Feed additive to enrich the diet of birds with vitamins and amino acids. The preparation contains vitamins A, E, K, D, group B, as well as essential amino acids: lysine, arginine, alanine, glycine, etc. The use of the additive has such an effect on the body:

  • normalizes metabolic processes;
  • increases resistance to adverse environmental factors;
  • improves immune defense;
  • increases the survival rate of young;
  • fills the deficiency of nutrients.
Broilers prepare a solution for oral administration (1-2 ml per 1 liter of liquid) for 5 days.

Seeding Tips

The main recommendations when feeding broilers:

  1. An antibiotic should be given according to a clear scheme specified in the instructions, or on the recommendation of a veterinarian. If antibiotics are given randomly, interrupted the course and then suddenly restored, antibiotic resistance can be triggered - resistance of microorganisms to the drug.
  2. It is necessary to dilute drugs in the separated water, it does not matter - raw or boiled.
  3. It is better to use soft water, with the correct concentration of magnesium and calcium salts. If the water in your area does not meet this standard, you need to buy bottled.
  4. It makes no sense to prepare solutions of vitamins and antibiotics in advance, because after a day such a solution no longer has any healing properties. Even if the liquid remains in the drinkers, after 24 hours, it needs to be poured out and made a new one.
  5. If several drinkers are placed in a brooder or box, you need to make sure that the fresh solution is poured into all containers.
  6. Drinkers should be thoroughly washed before each new course.
  7. If anxiety symptoms occur in one or more chickens, the chick should be transplanted and, if possible, summoned to a veterinarian for examination. Indeed, many diseases spread very quickly throughout the herd, and some even pose a danger to people.

Important! It is dangerous to overfeed birds with antibiotics. Moreover, you should not be zealous if the young growth looks strong and healthy, there are no deviations in development and state of health.

You can use different schemes for feeding broiler chickens: those listed above or compiled independently. However, all experts agree that without special antibiotic and vitamin preparations, it is practically impossible to raise livestock without significant losses, which is associated with the peculiarities of immunity in broiler breeds. In addition to stimulating the immune system, feeding out has many other beneficial effects: it stimulates growth and weight gain, improves metabolic processes, minimizes the negative effects of stress.
