Juice production in Russia went up for the first time in six years

In 2018, Russia began to produce more juices, their production increased by 1.6%, compared to 2017. Last year, the production of juices reached 2.411 billion liters, the Russian Union of Juice Producers (RSPS) reports. Such a positive trend in the production of juice products was recorded for the first time in 6 years.

According to experts of the Russian Union of Juice Producers, the observed expansion in the volume of product manufacturing may occur due to an increase in sales volumes of juice products abroad. In 2018, 17.1% or 101 million liters of juice were sold to other countries. The production of juices for feeding young children increased by 4.2%.

  • In 2018, the average consumption of juice products per capita in Russia was at 15.5 liters per year. Most often (52%) Russians buy nectars, slightly less often they buy juices (27%) and drinks with juice content (21%).

    Since 2017, the production of 100% juices has increased, which indicates an increase in consumer demand for them, according to the Russian Union of Juice Producers.
