  • unusual ventilation system. The upper part of the roof is equipped with transoms, passing through the warm air. Fresh air flows through open doors or auxiliary windows, which are located below the roof;
  • construction has durable frame, thanks to the often installed beams and struts. Such a structure is not afraid of hail and strong winds;
  • the greenhouse can be disassembled and moved to another place, if the installation was carried out with bolts or screws, without using nails;
  • the structure is installed in such a way that it is located in length from west to east. As a result, the ventilation flaps are turned towards the south, which protects the greenhouse from penetrating the cold north wind. In this case, the plants get good lighting and a sufficient amount of solar heat;
  • "American" does not need additional equipment or dispensers for gas, as natural ventilation supplies growing cultures with carbon dioxide in the required quantities.

Types and materials for the manufacture of the frame

One of the most commonly used construction options is the construction with a sloping roof and vertical walls.

The northern side of the greenhouse is equipped, as a rule, with a high slope that protects plants from cold winds. The low slope looks to the south.

Preparation for the construction

  • drawing design according to the size of the future structure. The recommended dimensions of the greenhouse: length - 6 m, width - 3 m, height - 2.7 m. The distance between the upper and lower slopes is 0.45 m;
  • purchase of material in accordance with the drawing;
  • choice of site for construction. The selected area must be freed from debris and grass and well leveled.

For the construction of a greenhouse on Mitlayder from polycarbonate the most suitable option is fine shallow foundation.

This type has a simple and reliable design, as well as an affordable price. For a small mass of the greenhouse structure of such a structure would be quite enough.

Foundation casting

Construction of the tape base includes the following procedures:

  1. The foundation is laid out with stakes and a rope, which is stretched between them.
  2. According to the markup dug trench. Its depth is 0.6 m, width - 0.25 m.
  3. One part of the sand is mixed with one part of the gravel.
  4. The resulting mixture is poured into a trench with a layer of about 10 cm, thereby forming a pillow.
  5. With the help of boards and stakes, formwork is constructed. Stakes need to dig in, while the distance between them should be 0.3-0.4 m.
  6. The framework from fittings can be built by means of electric welding or by means of a bunch of rods between themselves with steel wire.
  7. The finished frame is placed in the formwork.
  8. Next, you need to prepare a cement mortar. To do this, mix 5 parts of rubble, 3 parts of sand and one part of cement.
  9. The solution is poured into the formwork.

Remove formwork should be no earlier than a week after pouring. For the construction of the greenhouse can be taken after a month from the date of construction of the foundation.

Polycarbonate

How to build a greenhouse on Mitlayder under the polycarbonate with your own hands? The process of building "American" with polycarbonate coating consists of several stages:

  1. It is necessary to lay the foundation of the future structure on top of the foundation, for the construction of which the bars with a section of 10x10 cm are used. They are laid around the perimeter of the structure and are connected to each other using self-tapping screws.
  2. After laying the bars it is worth checking whether the rectangle is correct. To do this, measure the distance between the corners diagonally - if the dimensions are the same, then everything is fine. Further along the perimeter of the base, stakes are driven in, which are joined by parallel bars with self-tapping screws.

  3. The side walls are assembled in accordance with the dimensions outlined in advance. The details of the walls are also interconnected by means of screws.
  4. The next step is the construction of end walls, the distance between the uprights of which should be 0.7 m. For the installation of walls, a 75x50 cm section beam is used.
  5. The door frame is being assembled.
  6. Hinges are installed on the door frame.
  7. Next is the installation of windows. In a greenhouse according to Mitlayder, the window frame has an inclination angle equal to the slope of the roof slope, which is 30 degrees. The presence of two windows is quite suitable for this design.

The final stage of mounting the frame - roof construction. This will require the following materials:

  • 5 beams 1.9 meters long;
  • 5 bars, which will be used as supports, 32.7 cm long. The corners of the bars must be cut off;
  • 5 triangular wedges with equal sides of 0.5 m. For their manufacture, you should use 0.7 cm plywood.

With the help of these materials, five truss structures are assembled. The distance from one extreme point to the other should be 240 cm. Next, wedges are attached by means of nails.

The finished structures are mounted on top of the walls. First, the side elements, and then the rest, while the distance between them should be the same. Installed structures are fastened with self-tapping screws.

Further, at the very top under the roof, it is necessary to install a timber with a section of 75x50 mm - window shutters will be attached to it. Above is mounted auxiliary board. Under the windows between the rafters should fix a few short bars.

The wooden parts of the structure that will contact wet ground, should be covered with linseed, which will make the material more resistant to destruction.

Once the frame is ready, you can proceed to the coating. When installing polycarbonate worth following some rules:

  • holes for screws is best to drill in advance. The thickness of the drill should exceed the diameter of the holes by 2-3 mm;
  • polycarbonate sheets should not be too pressed to the frame;
  • the material must be laid on the frame of the side, which is equipped with ultraviolet protection. As a rule, it has a bluish tint due to the presence of a protective membrane.
