Hibiscus bloom - the result of proper care

Hibiscus - A beautiful evergreen plant, beloved by many lovers of floriculture. It is respected by the peoples of the Pacific Islands. And in the East, there is even a belief that this indoor flower is able to protect the house from negativity and help achieve success.

Bloom

Syrian hibiscus (as it is called in science) - a representative of the Malvova family. Within Russia, it is better known as chinese rose or Rosana. Hibiscus lovers love him for large and bright flowers of amazing beauty. However, often the plant refuses to please its owners with a scattering of buds, even if the care for this beauty is carried out at the proper level.

Flowering period

The development of the Chinese rose is very fast. As a result of proper care, it turns into an attractive tree and can bloom for several months.

Hibiscus - comes from a tropical climate, so, theoretically, it can be covered with flowers all year round. But this is only possible if all the necessary conditions are ensured: high temperature, good air humidity and a large amount of bright sunlight.

When kept at home, the flowering of Chinese roses usually lasts for 2-3 months, starting in mid-summer and ending in the fall, in September.

Buds

Exotic appearance and large sizes are characteristic of hibiscus inflorescences: fully opened buds in diameter are 9-16 cm.

The shape of the flower is cup-shaped, the inflorescences are both simple and terry. In the center of each flower is a pistil, which turns into stamens.

The vast majority of varieties of Chinese rose flowers are deprived of any flavor, but there are also instances with fragrant buds.

Usually hibiscus flowers open in the morning, with the rising of the sun, and in the evening they wither. With proper care, one branch during the day can please about 20 buds, on some large plants up to 50 flowers can bloom at the same time.

Rest period

The rest period of the Chinese rose lasts from November to February. In these months, the plant is best kept at a temperature from + 14 ° C to +16. In the period of its rest hibiscus should get enough light and moisture: should provide a good level of lighting and moderate watering. It is necessary to disturb him at this time minimally so that the plant can relax, gain strength and prepare for flowering.

The laying of new buds in Chinese roses occurs at a temperature not higher than + 15 ° C. In February, hibiscus put closer to heat and light, gradually increasing the number of dressings and watering.

You can also send rosan for wintering, after performing its pruning. To do this in the fall you need to give him the opportunity to lose their leaves. To this end, watering is gradually reduced to a minimum. When the hibiscus leaves fall off, the stems are carefully cut, leaving “hemp” 6-8 cm long. Then the plant is transferred to a cool place (the ambient temperature should not be above + 12 ° C). So that the root system of the Chinese rose does not dry, it is necessary to slightly moisten the soil from time to time.

Why does not bloom?

Many growers complain that hibiscus does not bloom at home, it costs for years and does not want to bloom. Or sometimes a pair of buds appears and falls, without opening.

How to make a Chinese rose bloom?

The guarantee of the flowering of any indoor plant is the implementation of proper care for him.

Hibiscus content also has its secrets:

  • The plant likes sunlight, so it should be contained in the lightest room.
From the direct rays of the sun hibiscus should be protected.
  • Loves hibiscus and fresh air in the summer: it can be taken out on the balcony or in the garden, but at the same time it should be protected from the wind.
  • Watering in the summer should be abundant (as the top layer of the earth dries out) and combined with daily spraying.
  • The soil in the pot after watering should be slightly loosened to ensure the roots of fresh air.
  • In the spring and summer, during its active growth, the Chinese rose prefers top dressing - it is desirable to hold them 2-3 times a month. Fertilizers for this purpose it is better to choose complex mineral or organic, with a weak concentration.

These are elementary rules for hibiscus content. But often, even with their observance, there were no colors as they were. This phenomenon occurs due to the fact that they are not performed. 2 key requirements for rose blossom:

  • Rosan must be sent to rest in the cold season;
  • Perform pruning branches.
If the plant is not cut off before the period of hibernation, then this procedure should be carried out already before its awakening. Hibiscus buds appear only on young branches, and the emergence of those just as a result of pruning occurs.

Practice shows that the content of hibiscus does not require any super-efforts from the grower. The pledge of health, attractiveness and lush flowering plants are the right care and ensuring optimal conditions for wintering.
