"Potato for anemia". Peruvian scientists brought potatoes, which can help in the fight against childhood anemia

According to the Ministry of Health of Peru, iron deficiency anemia at the age of 3-4 years suffers 46.6% of the population, in the mountainous regions of the country this percentage reaches 75%.

A new discovery of GMO potatoes of purple color was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Peru. Behind his words, the root vegetable will be able to prevent children's illness.

According to the statement of scientists from the National Institute for Agricultural Research, the purple miracle of the variety "INIA 328-Kulli Papa" has twice as many useful antioxidants, iron and zinc, than ordinary potatoes. Also, for research, the vegetable is picky: it can be safely attributed to sustainable crops, because it grows in all conditions, even at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters above sea level.
