Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine: "Livestock is our priority"

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine announced the priority of supporting livestock farms in the development of the agro-industrial complex. State support programs should focus on those sectors whose development will be an incentive for others and the entire agricultural sector as a whole.

The development of livestock is a business that requires long-term investments, but which promises a tendency for the growth of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex. These facts contributed to the fact that it was livestock breeding that was on the list of priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine for 2019.

  • This was stated by representatives of the Ministry at the XII International Dairy Congress, which opened on March 6, 2019 in Kiev, at the International Exhibition Center. Acting Minister Olga Trofimtseva said that the beginning of targeted support to livestock was the state in 2018. In 2019, the Ministry will allocate UAH 3.5 billion for the state support program, almost half of which will be directed to the development of cattle breeding.

    According to Olga Trofimtseva, investments in the livestock industry will include both support for a large agricultural enterprise for the maintenance of cows, and individuals for breeding young animals.

    Also, the Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine noted that in order to attract investment in agriculture, the state will conduct a campaign to reduce the price of construction and renovation of farm buildings and complexes. "To achieve this goal, the Ministry will allocate about 2 billion hryvnia." - Claims Olga Trofimtseva.
