“Hello again!”: The Mediterranean fruit fly was found in a new batch of mandarins that were sent to Ukraine

This was reported by the press service of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine, which conducted an inspection of the party of mandarins from Egypt. A lot weighing 25 tons was infected with a quarantine organism - a Mediterranean fruit fly.

At the moment, the whole batch of citrus is delayed, and will soon be disposed of, due to mandatory phytosanitary measures. To prevent more such incidents from occurring, the exporting country (Egypt) and the company that was engaged in the collection and packaging of products will receive a notification about the inconsistency of the floor with the phytosanitary requirements of Ukraine.

Recall that last year, the quarantine body was introduced to Ukraine and Russia through the party of Turkish tangerines. Subsequently, the fly was seen in the party of avocados, which were also intended to be exported to Ukraine.
