Agrarians of the Lipetsk region have already begun feeding winter crops. This year, it started a week earlier than planned, and Oleg Dolgikh, the head of the agriculture department, told a briefing in the regional administration.
Despite a rather dry autumn, a good harvest is expected this year. Experts believe that local farmers can easily expect to receive more than 3 million tons of grain, 5.3 million tons of sugar beet, as well as 600-650 thousand tons of oilseeds.

Farmers of the Lipetsk region widely use advanced digital technologies in their work. With their help, they track, and also make adjustments to the main production processes, which cover 30% of the area under crops. Monitoring comes from space. High technologies allow to know exactly where any culture is grown, said Oleg Dolgikh.
Agriculture in the region has become a modern sector of the economy with an active data stream. Information provide a variety of devices that are on the fields and farms. This also includes sensors, agricultural technology, meteorological stations, drones, satellites, external systems, partner systems and suppliers.
